Job Overview and Responsibilities

This role requires extensive expertise in application packaging and deployment using various industry-standard tools and frameworks. The candidate will be responsible for packaging applications in formats such as MSI, MSIX, App-V, and macOS PKG, ensuring compatibility and reliability across virtual and physical environments.

• Hands-on proficiency with Flexera AdminStudio, InstallShield, and the use of standardized packaging templates.
• Packaging, repackaging, conversion, and customization of applications in MSI, MSIX, MSIX conversion, App-V 5.x, and macOS PKG formats.
• Performing thorough source validation, OS compatibility verification, sequencing, and dependency mapping using clean virtual machine builds.
• Sequencing applications for virtual environments leveraging Microsoft App-V 5.0 while collaborating closely with requesters for requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation stages.
• Deploying packaged applications through Microsoft Intune and SCCM/MECM, and validating both deployment mechanisms for dependable performance.
• Developing custom MSI actions to align applications with company standards.
• Applying advanced troubleshooting techniques involving ProcMon, Event Viewer, CMTrace, installer logs, and executing remediation workflows.
• Implementing automation via PowerShell scripting and PSAppDeployToolkit to streamline packaging and deployment tasks.
• Offering informed recommendations on complex or unclear IT architectural challenges.
• Ensuring Quality Assurance compliance for every packaged application in line with organizational standards.
• Collaborating with end users to diagnose and resolve application packaging issues.
• Extensive utilization of Orca for MSI table editing and working with Merge Modules.
• Creating components and features using VB Script for custom MSI actions.
• Implementing silent installation processes to facilitate automated software distribution.
• Creating, testing, and virtualizing applications, analyzing errors to optimize packaging quality.
• Possessing a strong understanding of the ServiceNow platform and ITIL methodologies, including incident, change, request, and configuration management workflows.
