About the Ads Policy Team
The Ads Policy Team belongs to the Marketing, Advertising, Communications, and Consumer Product Legal division. This team establishes advertising standards that safeguard the experience of Netflix members and business collaborators. Collaborating with teams across Advertising, Product Management, Engineering, Legal, Global Affairs, and Strategic Planning and Analysis, the team creates scalable policies to ensure ads are delivered thoughtfully, balancing member experience and advertiser outcomes. Team members combine technical expertise and user insights to uphold premium quality and safety standards for all stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert deploying ads enforcement across specific areas such as dating services, alcohol, and high-fat/salt/sugar food and beverage categories, providing counsel to ads sales and account teams on enforcement queries.
- Act as an operational strategist and project manager by proactively seeking improved methods for advising, aligning, finalizing, and applying ad policies; manage escalation and resolution of issues raised by advertisers, sales, or members.
- Support global and regional policy needs by balancing standardization with local cultural sensitivities to develop meaningful advertising policies that benefit Netflix, its members, and advertisers.
Required Experience and Skills
- Three to five years of expertise in Content Moderation, Policy or Legal Operations, or Trust & Safety roles.
- Experience with policy-making relevant to the technology sector, especially focusing on internet policies like online safety and brand protection.
- Proven track record managing and scaling high-volume content across multiple industries and countries or overseeing complex policy projects from start to finish.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills able to engage diverse internal teams, clarify complex topics, and align strategy with execution.
- Established cooperation with advertiser, legal, and sales teams.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with strong intellectual curiosity and a goal-driven, entrepreneurial mindset.
- Must have proficiency in English; command of additional languages such as German, Spanish, Italian, French, Polish, Swedish, or Dutch is advantageous.
