The Institute of Competition Sciences (ICS) is dedicated to transforming education from a mundane obligation into an inspiring challenge by developing innovative competitions for students across all age ranges. Our programs foster engagement, motivation, and inspiration to enhance learning. While primarily focused on STEM education with an emphasis on aerospace, we support a wide variety of educational competitions. ICS promotes an educational revolution by shifting from traditional lecture-based teaching toward challenge-based, real-world learning experiences.
Founded in 2012 by MIT-trained planetary scientist and education entrepreneur Joshua Neubert, ICS operates as a nimble organization delivering impactful programs. Position Summary
The Administrative Coordinator role supports a curated selection of ICS innovation competitions and platform engagement efforts. Reporting to the Operations Manager and senior staff, this full-time position ensures seamless program execution and excellent client and partner service. Although ICS operates as a distributed virtual team across the United States, this opportunity requires an onsite presence with flexibility to manage your schedule within standard working hours while meeting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Address inquiries via the ICS online competition platform
- Research and maintain organized contact databases related to educational competitions
- Conduct thorough online research to update academic competition records
- Document and systematize ICS company procedures and tools
- Manage calendars and coordinate meetings
- Support operational activities for academic competitions including participant communication and event organization
- Create forms and certificates for competition participants
- Compile and organize competition data for client reporting
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in STEM education, science, or aerospace fields
- Prior experience in educational competitions or STEM education programs
- Proven project or program coordination capabilities
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a small, flexible team environment
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with minimal supervision
- Capability to work from a home office or virtual setup
Employment Details
This is a virtual position with the expectation to work onsite during regular business hours within the United States. ICS offers a competitive salaried package within the industry standards. Benefits include three weeks (15 working days) of paid time off annually and additional holidays beyond government-mandated ones.
