Adjunct Faculty - Practicum Virtual Instructor

Job Overview

This contract position offers an opportunity to work remotely as an adjunct instructor for a Live Virtual Internship (LVI) course. The role focuses on guiding students through practical medical coding exercises, using "real-world" medical records to accurately apply coding standards. The position requires certified professionals in outpatient coding with teaching experience and proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver online coursework via the Black Board platform and Practicode tools.
• Track and evaluate student attendance, participation, and case completion.
• Maintain accurate attendance records.
• Provide timely, relevant answers to student questions and constructive feedback.
• Follow all faculty policies and procedures as outlined by the program.
• Participate actively in faculty meetings and contribute ideas to improve processes.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possession of AAPC Instructor credential along with CPC or COC certification.
• At least three years of experience in healthcare business environments.
• A minimum of two years teaching experience, preferably with online instruction.
• Strong skills in communication, technology, interpersonal relations, and time management.
• Previous experience using Practicode is advantageous.
