Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Watchmaker to join our Authentication operations team, which ensures luxury watch authenticity for eBay customers. This fast-paced and collaborative environment values career growth and learning. As a Watchmaker, you will authenticate and inspect both modern and vintage luxury timepieces, working closely with operational teams to continually guarantee premium and genuine products for buyers.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine and verify the authenticity of luxury watches from various brands.
• Skillfully open, inspect, and reassemble watches, checking internal and external elements.
• Identify any missing parts such as screws or pushers during inspection.
• Use eBay’s technology systems to log inspection data meticulously, including product SKUs, production dates, conditions, and release details.
• Maintain precision standards related to gear trains, escapements, lubrication, and torque, often measured in microns.
• Handle watches carefully to prevent damage or scratches during inspections and ensure proper restoration after evaluation.
• Clean watches post-inspection.
• Collaborate proactively with various Authenticity Guarantee teams to improve operational workflows and customer service.

Additional Information

This position is based in Newington, Sydney and requires onsite work. The role may include physical handling of watch components and boxes weighing up to 20 kg. Candidates must be willing to occasionally work beyond regular hours, including weekends and holidays, to support business demands.
