Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee our East Tamaki and Penrose distribution centers. This leadership role includes managing a team, maintaining safety standards, ensuring inventory accuracy, and optimizing customer service outcomes. The position involves responsibility across three warehouse sites with operations run on three shifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and nurture a warehouse workforce consisting of 5 Team Leaders and 50 employees.
  • Establish and promote a culture emphasizing safety, engagement, and accountability.
  • Maintain precise inventory controls and meet established warehouse performance indicators.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across personnel, workflows, and systems.
  • Ensure consistent achievement of Delivery in Full, On Time (DIFOT) and customer service targets.
  • Collaborate closely with departments including Planning, Production, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and HR.
  • Support operational planning and seek opportunities to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with warehouse procedures, quality standards, inventory controls, and audit requirements.
  • Develop effective employee relations practices such as performance management, training, attendance tracking, and workforce capability enhancement.
  • Champion health and safety compliance in line with the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 as well as company safety protocols.
  • Participate in trainings, workshops, meetings, and company events as required to provide leadership across all shifts.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5 years in leadership roles within warehousing, logistics, distribution, or preferably FMCG manufacturing.
  • Proven skills in leading, coaching, and developing teams.
  • Sound knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and transport coordination.
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement and operational excellence projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership in health and safety management.
  • Competency in budget oversight, labor cost control, productivity metrics, and service delivery management.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with ERP, inventory management, or warehouse management systems is beneficial.
  • Ability to manage large teams and oversee multiple warehouse or distribution sites.
  • Full New Zealand work authorization is mandatory.
