About the Company
Our client is a respected New Zealand dairy enterprise with a well-established presence in global export markets. Their operations span a network of company-owned warehouses and third-party logistics providers, focusing on a high-volume fulfilment process essential to daily operations.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Group Logistics Manager, the Warehouse Manager oversees warehouse functions and third-party logistics fulfilment throughout the network. This role holds primary responsibility for the performance of 3PL partners, maintaining inventory precision, and ensuring smooth execution of outbound shipments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with 3PL providers across receiving, storage, order picking, and dispatch, ensuring adherence to agreed service standards
- Identify and resolve fulfilment challenges, implement corrective measures, and promote ongoing process improvements
- Maintain high inventory accuracy across all warehouse locations, monitoring stock quality and future stock cover
- Assist in tendering, onboarding, and transition processes for new 3PL suppliers
- Seek out opportunities to reduce costs and enhance efficiency within warehousing and fulfilment operations
- Contribute to the design and capacity planning of the network as the business grows
- Collaborate with planning, sales, and logistics teams to ensure fulfilment meets demand requirements
- Ensure data integrity in the NAV system related to all warehouse and fulfilment activities
- Provide occasional support for outbound export logistics when needed
Required Skills & Experience
- At least five years of experience in warehouse operations, fulfilment, or logistics roles
- Demonstrated expertise in managing 3PL partners and holding them accountable for service delivery
- Experience with warehouse management systems preferred
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and order fulfilment
- Familiarity with export logistics processes is an advantage but not essential
- Commercially minded with a focus on cost control and service optimization
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong commitment to data accuracy
- Proven communication skills and capability to build productive stakeholder relationships
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities
- Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with Microsoft NAV is beneficial
