Role Overview

The Utilities Technician I is responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted operation and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) and Water Treatment Plant systems. This includes equipment such as Equalization tanks, Anoxic zones, Drum screens, Aeration systems, Clarifier tanks, Decanters, blower rooms, Membrane Microfiltration (MMF), water filtration, and chlorine systems, all kept in optimal and safe working order.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage utilities operations to maintain continuous processing in WWTP and water treatment facilities.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to uphold asset integrity and operational excellence.
• Maintain high standards for electrical and mechanical operations, monitoring consumption and operational controls.
• Follow established maintenance processes including corrective, preventive, scheduled maintenance, and Kanban methodologies.
• Conduct daily routine tasks including monitoring parameters, performing laboratory analyses, documenting activities, and maintaining cleanliness of work areas.
• Strictly comply with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols, proper chemical handling, tool usage, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Adhere to food safety standards such as HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and 5S workplace organization.
• Support company sustainability goals by implementing activities aligned with BRF’s Sustainability Policy and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments.

Educational and Professional Background

Applicants should have completed at least a two-year technical diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering, or have foundational studies in Environmental or Chemical disciplines.
