Role Overview

The Safari Group, in partnership with Kenya Airways, seeks an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead and manage the comprehensive supply chain operations. This includes procurement, warehousing, inventory management, logistics, and product distribution to support retail, distribution, and travel retail operations efficiently while ensuring regulatory compliance and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Devise and execute supply chain strategies aligned with company goals, driving continuous process improvements to enhance service quality and reduce expenses.
Manage procurement planning, supplier relations, contract negotiations, and monitor supplier performance for quality and competitiveness.
Design inventory control strategies that ensure product availability and minimize overstock or obsolete items, collaborating closely with category and finance teams.
Supervise warehouse functions including receipt, storage, order picking, packing, and dispatch, ensuring safety standards and operational efficiency are met.
Oversee logistics for inbound and outbound transportation, coordinate customs and regulatory compliance, and work with freight and clearing agents.
Partner with sales and finance to develop accurate demand forecasts and adjust procurement accordingly.
Leverage ERP and Warehouse Management Systems to optimize supply chain visibility, drive automation, and establish KPIs for performance monitoring.
Maintain adherence to company policies, procurement guidelines, customs regulations, and Kenyan laws while establishing internal control measures and risk mitigation plans.
Lead and mentor the supply chain team, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, Commerce, or related fields; a master's degree such as an MBA or relevant professional certification is highly beneficial.
At least 7 years of progressive supply chain experience with minimum 3 years in a leadership role, including hands-on experience in retail and distribution sectors.
Experience in travel retail, aviation, FMCG, luxury retail, duty-free, or logistics is advantageous.
Proficiency with ERP and Warehouse Management Systems and strong skills in procurement, inventory planning, and supplier management.
