Supervisor - Stewards

Job Overview

The Supervisor for Stewards will oversee and assist the steward team to enhance efficiency in cleanup activities. This role requires monitoring water temperature and chemical levels to ensure proper cleaning standards and maintaining accurate documentation. The supervisor will support banquet operations by assisting with plate-ups, aiding cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks, and ensuring sufficient stock is transported and maintained for buffets and banquets. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for returning cleaned items to their designated spots and operating cleaning machinery such as dishwashers, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.

Leadership and Compliance

This position involves assisting management in staff-related functions including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching steward employees. Adhering strictly to company policies on safety, security, and confidentiality is essential. Reporting accidents, unsafe conditions, and completing all safety trainings are required. The supervisor must maintain a professional and clean appearance and safeguard company assets.

Guest Interaction and Teamwork

Welcoming guests warmly in line with company standards and promptly addressing their service needs is expected. Strong, clear communication skills and the ability to foster positive working relationships within the team are critical for achieving shared objectives. Ensuring work meets quality standards is part of daily responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

The role requires physical stamina, including standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods, lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds independently, and performing actions such as bending, twisting, stooping, and navigating uneven or slippery surfaces.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• A minimum of 2 years related work experience
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience
