Sub Editor – Hindi Newspaper

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sub Editor proficient in Hindi journalism to join our team in Ambala, Haryana. This role involves refining news content for our Hindi newspaper, ensuring high standards in accuracy and clarity across print and digital channels.

Core Responsibilities

• Revise, proofread, and rewrite news articles to enhance accuracy, clarity, and overall readability.
• Create engaging headlines, captions, and brief summaries to complement news stories.
• Confirm facts and maintain strict adherence to editorial guidelines and standards.
• Manage print page layouts and formatting to streamline newspaper production.
• Edit and upload news content for the website and various digital media platforms.
• Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality editorial content within daily deadlines.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess between 2 and 10 years of experience working as a Sub Editor or Copy Editor with a Hindi newspaper.
• Demonstrate excellent proficiency in Hindi language, grammar, and news writing conventions.
• Skilled in editing, proofreading, and crafting compelling headlines.
• Experienced in newspaper page planning and the editorial production process.
• Strong understanding of current events and the ability to exercise good news judgment.
• Familiar with editorial software such as QuarkXPress, InDesign, or their equivalents.
• Digital news publishing experience is a plus.
• Capable of performing well under pressure and adhering to tight publication schedules.
