Storekeeper - Construction and Contracting

Overview

The Storekeeper will be responsible for overseeing and managing all materials, tools, equipment, and inventory at the project store to ensure efficient receiving, storage, issuance, and tracking of construction-related items to facilitate seamless project progression.

Key Duties

• Receive, inspect, and document inbound construction materials, tools, and equipment from vendors.
• Maintain precise inventory records and implement strict stock management protocols.
• Distribute materials to site teams according to authorized requests and keep records of material movements.
• Monitor inventory levels and liaise with procurement to ensure timely replenishment.
• Ensure correct storage, handling, and preservation of materials to prevent damage or loss.
• Keep updated documentation such as GRNs, delivery notes, material requests, and inventory reports.
• Conduct routine stock verifications and physical inventory audits.
• Collaborate with project engineers, supervisors, procurement staff, and suppliers on material needs.
• Manage storage spaces in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards at the site.
• Prepare regular daily, weekly, and monthly reports for project management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline preferred.
• 3 to 8 years of storekeeping experience within construction or contracting sectors.
• Proficient in managing construction materials, tools, MEP components, and related equipment.
• Understanding of material receipt, issuance, and stock control procedures.
• Preferred experience working on building, infrastructure, or MEP projects.
• Familiarity with ERP software and proficient MS Excel skills for inventory management.
• Strong organizational capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to coordinate efficiently with on-site teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• UAE construction industry experience is advantageous.

Additional Preferred Experience

• Working with high-rise building projects, infrastructure developments, or major contracting operations.
• Managing stores handling large quantities of project materials.
• Knowledge of construction documentation and control procedures for materials.
