We are currently seeking a permanent full-time Stock Agent to join our Emerald / Clermont team. This role involves acting as the dependable advisor and primary contact for livestock customers in the region, collaborating closely with local producers and the branch team to help achieve successful on-farm outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture solid, service-driven relationships with livestock clients.
  • Perform on-farm livestock evaluations and prepare sale listings.
  • Coordinate and manage livestock sales via auctions, paddock sales, feedlot programs, and online channels.
  • Deliver market intelligence and pricing guidance to clientele.
  • Spot and promote cross-selling opportunities across various Elders products and services including finance, insurance, retail, and agency.
  • Keep abreast of livestock market developments, trends, and seasonal influences.
  • Support livestock sale preparation including handling tasks such as weighing, processing, vaccinating, and drenching.

Candidate Profile

  • Previous relevant experience in livestock handling, station or feedlot operations, or sales processing.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service capabilities.
  • Competence in accurately assessing livestock health and market value.
  • Possession of a valid driver's licence and selling licence or willingness to acquire these.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for rural life and the agriculture sector.
  • Ability to show proof of Q-Fever vaccination or immunity, or commitment to obtaining it.
