Job description

About Lata Agrawal Foundation

Lata Agrawal Foundation (LAF) is a registered Section 8 nonprofit devoted to creating impactful opportunities for children and communities. It focuses on education, technology, career guidance, volunteering, and community advancement through initiatives such as Buniyad Next Gen Robotics (STEM education), computer literacy, and support efforts for vulnerable populations.

Role Overview

This role requires transitioning LAF's individual activities into defined, measurable, and scalable social-impact initiatives. The Social Impact & Program Development Manager will collaborate with leadership, volunteers, NGOs, educational entities, CSR teams, and partners to design, implement, track, and document impactful programs. This is a practical, people-centered role involving hands-on problem-solving beyond just reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop structured programs from existing LAF activities in areas including digital literacy, STEM and robotics, career guidance, computer lab activation, educational support, volunteer-led teaching, and community enhancement.
  • Create simple guidelines for programs to facilitate implementation by volunteers and partners, and identify potential for replication across institutions.
  • Design robust impact measurement tools tracking metrics such as student engagement, classes, volunteer hours, skills delivered, attendance, projects, and outcomes, with monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Identify, establish, and maintain partnerships with educational institutions, NGOs, government bodies, CSR departments, volunteering groups, and community organizations, managing these relations in a database.
  • Strengthen LAF’s volunteer network by identifying volunteers, defining roles, preparing onboarding materials, matching volunteers to projects, monitoring contributions, and recognizing exceptional volunteers.
  • Create comprehensive documentation and storytelling materials—including project and impact reports, case and beneficiary stories, CSR reports, presentations, and proposals—to effectively communicate LAF's work.
  • Support leadership in crafting CSR proposals, grant applications, budgets, concept notes, donor updates, and presentations, while maintaining a database of funding opportunities.
  • Conduct research on social challenges and opportunities relevant to LAF's mission, such as underutilized computer labs, schools needing technology education, children requiring guidance, NGOs requiring support, and corporate volunteering opportunities.
  • Monitor projects regularly by liaising with partners and volunteers to collect attendance, media, volunteer reports, feedback, and verify information for reporting.
  • Develop scalable, replicable program models that allow LAF to extend successful initiatives effectively across multiple institutions.

First 90 Days Plan

  • First 30 days: Understand existing work, review programs, meet stakeholders, organize data, and analyze volunteer and portal processes.
  • Days 31–60: Build essential systems including KPIs, report templates, onboarding procedures, impact frameworks, and expand partnership pipelines.
  • Days 61–90: Launch at least one structured program, form new partnerships, establish a volunteer program, initiate impact reporting, identify funding opportunities, and develop replicable programs.

Performance Indicators

Evaluation focuses on outcomes such as increased partnerships, student reach, active volunteers, volunteer hours, CSR proposals, institutional collaborations, replicable programs, and comprehensive impact reporting.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Required: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in disciplines like Social Work, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, NGO Management, Education, Psychology, Community Development, or Business/Management with relevant social experience.
  • Preferred: MSW or MA Social Work with 1–5 years experience in NGOs, CSR, education, or social-impact sectors.
  • Fresh candidates with strong qualifications and communication skills also considered; prior NGO experience not essential for exceptional individuals.

Required Skills

  • Strong communication (English and Hindi), documentation, and reporting abilities.
  • Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and presentation preparation.
  • Research aptitude, project coordination, relationship building, follow-up, and independent working capability.
  • Organizational skills and readiness for local travel.

Additional Good-to-Have Skills

  • Knowledge of CSR, grant writing, NGO compliance, impact evaluation, social media, and Canva.
  • Data analysis, familiarity with Google Workspace, CRM/project management tools.
  • Experience with schools, children, and volunteer coordination.

Ideal Personality Traits

  • Proactive problem-solver who takes initiative without waiting for detailed instructions.
  • Comfortable engaging with diverse stakeholders including school principals, NGO founders, corporate employees, and students.
  • Skilled at organizing complex information systematically, equally adept at fieldwork and desk work.
  • Committed to meaningful social impact and open to experimentation and learning.
  • Adaptive to a small evolving organization environment.

Unfit Candidate Traits

  • Limited to desk work or just reporting tasks.
  • Needs constant supervision or struggles with interpersonal communication.
  • Motivated only by certificates or superficial milestones.

Remuneration will be tailored according to experience and capabilities, with opportunities for progression linked to performance and organizational growth. Employment is primarily full-time based in Bengaluru or Nagpur, with possible hybrid arrangements. Local travel is expected for stakeholder engagement.
