Senior Network Engineer

About the Role

EC1 Partners is partnering with a leading global firm in financial markets technology to expand its infrastructure team in Singapore. This role offers the chance to become a Senior Network Engineer supporting critical trading platforms, low-latency infrastructure, market data access, customer connectivity, and globally dispersed production systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain low-latency network infrastructure across global production environments, including disaster recovery and testing setups.
• Diagnose and resolve intricate network problems involving routing, switching, firewalls, latency issues, packet loss, TCP retransmissions, multicast, and overall network performance.
• Coordinate network upgrades, changes, maintenance windows, and plan for capacity needs.
• Facilitate connectivity to exchanges, brokers, data centers, vendors, customers, and other market participants.
• Support customer connectivity onboarding processes including testing, certification, and troubleshooting.
• Utilize packet capture and analysis tools to investigate issues related to market data flow, packet loss, latency, and multicast interruptions.
• Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams during incident response, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective measures.
• Drive network automation efforts, improve monitoring, enhance documentation, and refine operational processes.
• Ensure strong ownership and meticulous attention to detail in managing production environments subject to high trust.

Experience and Skills Required

• Extensive hands-on experience supporting and engineering networks in production environments.
• Proficient knowledge of routing protocols, switching, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, multicast techniques, VLANs, firewalls, and network security.
• Experience dealing with high-availability, low-latency, or critical business infrastructure setups.
• Preferably experience within financial services technology sectors such as trading platforms, exchanges, market data systems, or capital markets.
• Experience with enterprise network hardware from vendors like Cisco, Arista, or Juniper.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with calmness under pressure during production incidents.
• Skillful in using packet capture and analysis utilities such as Corvil, Wireshark, tcpdump, or equivalents.
• Beneficial experience in scripting, automation, monitoring, and infrastructure tooling including Python, UNIX shell, APIs, and Grafana.
• Exposure to AWS cloud networking is an advantage.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE, AWS certifications, Network+, Security+, or Corvil are positive additions.
