Job description
Role Overview
The School of Digital Technologies invites applications for a permanent full-time Senior Lecturer position based at the Manukau Campus. The successful candidate will deliver a variety of IT subjects, actively participate in programme and course development, and report to the Head of School – Digital Technologies. This role demands innovative problem-solving skills, a positive and proactive attitude, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a supportive approach to teaching including mentoring and pastoral care. Experience in assisting diverse learners in a multicultural tertiary setting is essential.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a postgraduate degree in Information Technology or a related discipline, with preference for candidates holding a doctoral degree.
- Hold a New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (CATT) or an equivalent accredited teaching qualification.
- Proven track record of teaching and assessing IT courses within New Zealand's tertiary education sector.
- Experience in designing and developing programmes and curricula at diploma and degree levels, including the creation of assessments and ensuring academic quality.
- Specialist knowledge in one or more areas such as Networking, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, or Software and Web Development is highly valued.
- Demonstrated research achievements with published works in relevant fields and ongoing scholarly engagement.
- Understanding and application of student-centred teaching methodologies, with the ability to support learners from varied cultural and educational backgrounds.
