Role Overview
The Excavation Documentation Support Engineer is responsible for coordinating and reviewing excavation documentation generated during production activities. This includes ensuring that all documentation outputs are thorough, consistent, and meet project specifications. The engineer will assist in preparing logs, drawings, and related reports for stakeholder presentations and audits.
This role involves verifying that field data updates are accurately incorporated into project documentation, identifying discrepancies for prompt resolution. Collaboration with site teams and production coordinators will be essential for capturing modifications, managing document versions, and facilitating efficient handover of documentation. Additionally, the engineer will support audit preparations and internal quality assessments, ensuring proper linkage between execution activities and records.
Requirements
- Proven experience in assisting with excavation documentation within construction or production environments, including familiarity with site documentation procedures.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction documentation standards such as as-built/record drawings, logs, version control, and document traceability relevant to production settings.
- Strong skills in document control processes, with keen attention to detail to maintain accuracy and completeness in records.
- Capability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including site, production, and quality or document control personnel; excellent communication skills in dynamic environments.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, excavation and earthworks terminology, and standard reporting requirements in construction projects.
- Competency in computer applications for documentation preparation and maintaining systematic project records, such as drawing management and reporting tools.
