Sales Associate

Position Summary

The Sales Associate plays a vital role in representing the Apparel Group brand by driving sales and providing excellent customer service. This position entails maintaining store standards, supporting visual merchandising efforts, delivering a superior retail environment, and executing operational tasks as directed by management.

Primary Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist customers in selecting appropriate products tailored to their requirements.
• Transform casual window shoppers into paying customers through engaging interaction.
• Encourage participation in the company's loyalty program to foster repeat business.
• Ensure exceptional customer service utilizing the company’s GUEST protocol: Greet, Understand, Explain, Sell, Thank.
• Keep updated about the brand portfolio to facilitate cross-selling and product recommendations.
• Inform customers on product details including features, materials, benefits, and care guidelines.
• Maintain a professional and well-groomed personal appearance at all times.
• Adapt to flexible working hours, particularly during peak sales seasons.
• Stay informed on stock and product knowledge to reduce losses and improve customer advice.
• Arrange and display merchandise attractively adhering to store layout and visual merchandising standards.
• Follow stock management procedures diligently, with special attention to clearance goods.
• Accurately record inventory movements, including incoming and outgoing products.
• Promote upselling and cross-selling initiatives actively to boost sales performance.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of stock inventory and ongoing promotions to assist customer inquiries effectively.
• Operate the Point of Sale system efficiently to process transactions including billing and payments.
• Manage cash handling by balancing the till at shift changes and handling various payment methods accurately.
• Issue customer receipts, provide refunds, and give correct change as needed.
• Be vigilant about store security measures and comply with all loss prevention policies.
• Continuously restock and reorganize sales floor merchandise to ensure availability of products.

Qualifications & Skills

An ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for fostering a positive customer experience. Prior experience in retail sales is advantageous.
