Overview
Join our Project Controls Team and contribute to our dynamic organization that strives to meet client goals while effectively addressing challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project teams to develop and maintain detailed risk registers including inputs from clients and team members.
- Define qualitative and quantitative parameters for risk modeling based on project budgets and schedules.
- Conduct Monte Carlo simulations to establish baseline and updated risk profiles and assess results for accuracy and relevance.
- Partner with teams to determine suitable contingency reserves and schedule buffers.
- Support continuous risk management processes such as risk identification, impact assessment (both qualitative and quantitative), planning responses, and ongoing monitoring and controlling activities.
- Lead or facilitate risk management workshops, meetings, interviews, and discussions internally and with external clients as needed.
- Prepare comprehensive risk-related reports for projects and programs as required.
- Assist project teams with informed decision-making by tracking risk register updates and flagging critical risk factors promptly.
- Coordinate with project managers and controls personnel to quantify potential cost and schedule impacts from risks and changes.
- Review project documentation for alignment with risk registers and address any discrepancies.
- Help develop and implement effective internal and external response plans to manage critical risks, including mitigation, transfer, avoidance, or adjustments to budgets and schedules.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Working knowledge of general risk management and project control standards and frameworks such as AACE International and the Project Management Institute (PMI).
- Familiarity with transportation engineering design requirements and project delivery processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills addressing diverse and non-standardized situations.
- Ability to interpret complex instructions presented in various formats including written documents, oral discussions, diagrams, or schedules.
- Advocate and integrate risk management principles into new and evolving systems, processes, and procedures.
- Exceptional attention to detail alongside maintaining a strategic overview.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate diplomatically across a range of personalities while remaining independent in judgment.
- Proven ability to meet commitments timely within budget constraints, prioritize tasks, and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Demonstrates excellent organizational, analytical, and multitasking capabilities.
- Effective communicator in both verbal and written forms with experience preparing clear reports and presentations.
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and supporting positive communication about project and client goals.
- Experience facilitating change management and supporting project managers in developing strategies.
Tools and Technology
- Proficient with risk analysis software such as @Risk or Crystal Ball and schedule risk software like Primavera Risk Analysis.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Planning, Construction Management, Sciences, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of formal education.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience; alternatively, 10 years of experience in risk management, construction management, project management, or contract/change management.
- Proven track record in maintaining workplace safety and adherence to health, safety, drug/alcohol, and anti-harassment policies.
- Demonstrated ethical decision-making aligned with company codes of conduct and resource management.

- Projects require no travel.
- Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.
