Job Overview
The role involves taking charge of the Day-2 operations of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) across multiple enterprise-scale environments. The candidate will focus on patch management, fine-tuning system performance, managing kernel configurations, and monitoring system health consistently to ensure optimum operation.
Key Duties
- Manage integration of RHEL with enterprise domains, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), SSH key management, and Active Directory assimilation.
- Apply Linux security enhancements based on standards like CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIGs to strengthen system defense.
- Participate in vulnerability management, perform log audits through SIEM/ELK tools, and contribute to compliance efforts.
- Develop automation scripts and workflows using Ansible and Bash to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with teams from infrastructure, security, application, and vendors to guarantee high availability and excellent operational standards.
- Support backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and high availability solutions for enterprise environments.
Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years experience managing enterprise RHEL systems with responsibilities across deployment and lifecycle management.
- Strong knowledge of Logical Volume Manager (LVM), SAN/NAS storage solutions, and system tuning for enhanced performance.
- Proficiency in automation with Ansible and scripting with Bash.
- Comprehensive understanding of enterprise networking concepts including VLANs, bonding, and routing.
- Experience with Active Directory or LDAP integration and Linux security best practices.
- Familiarity with enterprise application environments, virtualization technologies, ETL/Data Virtualization tools, and distributed data processing engines.
- Awareness and application of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS Benchmarks.
Education & Certification
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related disciplines.
Possession of professional certification such as RHCSA or RHCE is mandatory.
