Receiving Controller

Role Overview

As a Receiving Controller at FlySafair in Johannesburg, you will oversee the process of receiving shipments, ensuring accuracy and quality control of incoming goods, and maintaining organized records to support inventory management. This full-time, onsite position requires hands-on handling of deliveries, operating equipment, and collaborating with various teams to guarantee seamless inbound logistics and stock management.

Key Responsibilities

• Accept incoming shipments and complete required paperwork.
• Unload packages from trucks using equipment such as dollies and forklifts.
• Compare shipments with invoices to confirm accuracy of quantity, quality, and pricing.
• Inspect packages for damages by opening boxes and assessing contents.
• Keep detailed records and assist with inventory tracking and control.
• Coordinate with procurement or shippers to resolve discrepancies.
• Work alongside management and Quality Assurance to address concerns.
• Manage returns of unsatisfactory items and facilitate receipt of replacements.
• Prepare returned goods for shipment including labeling and documentation.
• Label, allocate, and properly store delivery items in designated locations.
• Confirm invoices are signed and payments processed for satisfactory deliveries.
• Conduct daily stock audits for received items using the SAM system.
• Monitor tooling and maintain cleanliness and organization in the receiving area.
• Process transfers to other company locations as required.
• Ensure all shipments are correctly received without damage and track daily spare parts receipt reports.
• Communicate with internal departments to assure timely delivery coordination.
• Maintain audit readiness for the receiving area at all times.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent education.
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in warehouse or goods receiving roles within a medium-sized organization.
• Warehouse training certification is beneficial.
• Dangerous goods handling and Aircraft spares packing certifications are advantageous.
• Experience with forklifts and a valid forklift license is preferred.
• Familiarity with SAM AMO inventory system is advantageous.
• Availability to work overtime when required.
