Job description
Overview
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for overseeing cost-related operations, measurements, and contract management for building projects in a construction setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile interim payment claims, prepare detailed measurement sheets, and generate comprehensive cost reports.
- Examine contract documentation ensuring all financial aspects comply with agreed cost guidelines.
- Quantify completed construction works and create Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for modifications or additional tasks.
- Support processes relating to claims, variations, and negotiate commercial terms effectively.
- Track and analyze project financial performance, highlighting any cost variances.
- Assess contractor invoices and aid in the administration of contracts.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
- Have between 5 and 10 years of practical quantity surveying experience, ideally with exposure to road or highway projects.
- Demonstrate strong familiarity with FIDIC standards, contract administration, and tools for cost control.
- Exhibit excellent analytical abilities, documentation skills, and negotiation prowess.
