QA Engineer

Role Overview

The QA Engineer will ensure that software products meet high quality, reliability, and performance standards through thorough testing and quality assurance methodologies. This role involves detecting defects, validating functionality, and confirming that software aligns with technical specifications and user needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and analysts to understand requirements and shape testing strategies.
• Develop and execute test plans, cases, and scenarios covering functional and non-functional aspects of software.
• Perform manual and automated testing on diverse platforms including web, mobile, and APIs.
• Identify, document, and communicate defects clearly, working with teams to ensure timely fixes.
• Create and maintain automated test scripts and improve testing frameworks.
• Conduct regression, integration, performance, usability, and security testing as needed.
• Monitor testing outcomes, analyze metrics, and suggest enhancements for testing and development workflows.
• Engage in various stages of the software lifecycle such as requirement reviews, sprint planning, and release validations.
• Support continuous improvement by adopting quality standards and advanced testing practices.
• Utilize tools for testing, defect tracking, and CI/CD pipelines to increase efficiency and reliability.
• Stay informed about new automation frameworks, testing technologies, and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of software testing methodologies and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to prepare detailed test documentation including plans, cases, and scenarios.
• Experienced in functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Hands-on with test automation frameworks and scripting languages.
• Proficient with testing tools like Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, or TestNG.
• Familiar with API testing using Postman, SoapUI, or equivalent.
• Knowledgeable in bug tracking and project management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of SDLC and agile development concepts.
• Awareness of web technologies, databases, APIs, and system architectures.
• Strong ability to evaluate requirements and pinpoint quality risks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation capabilities.
• Effective communicator skilled at collaborating across teams.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing methods.
• Basic understanding of performance, security, and usability testing principles.
