Python Game Developer (Panda3D) - Remote Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Python Game Developer skilled in Panda3D to join our team on a remote hourly contract basis. This role involves designing and optimizing 3D game simulations primarily for AI training purposes. The position demands collaboration with diverse teams to provide robust technical solutions and requires managing and improving codebases written in Python and C++.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop immersive 3D game simulations utilizing Panda3D targeted at AI training applications.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop scalable, high-quality technical solutions.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve Python and C++ code integrated with the Panda3D framework.
• Employ GitHub for source code management and to facilitate team collaboration.
• Optimize software for performance consistency across multiple platforms.
• Produce clear and comprehensive documentation covering system architecture, code, and workflows.
• Engage in thorough code reviews and contribute constructively to team discussions.

Skill and Experience Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in developing with the Panda3D game engine.
• Strong command of Python and C++ programming languages.
• Experience using GitHub for version control and collaborative project development.
• Solid understanding of 3D graphics pipelines, simulation modeling, and cross-platform compatibility.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Self-motivated with the capability to work effectively independently in a remote setting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude with meticulous attention to detail.

Compensation and Work Details

• Type: Hourly contract
• Hourly Rate: $50 to $120 per hour
• Weekly Commitment: Flexible between 10 to 40 hours per week
• Work Location: Fully remote position, open to candidates based in Canada
