About the Role
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the complete project lifecycle from initiation to completion. This includes maintaining strong client relationships, interpreting design objectives for both design and production departments, ensuring fabrication readiness through effective communication and timely procurement, and handling all administrative aspects of projects. Each manager typically oversees projects valued around $3.3 million concurrently, requiring careful management of budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Act as the main liaison for clients assigned, fostering relationships and providing regular project updates.
- Lead design review sessions driven by client needs and coordinate internal teams to ensure design clarity and execution.
- Create and monitor project timelines and budgets, managing costs, forecasting needs and safeguarding profit margins.
- Identify and resolve issues such as conflicts or incomplete information while managing project risks as they arise.
- Handle material procurement by obtaining quotes, issuing work orders, and monitoring procurement progress to ensure readiness before production.
- Oversee administrative duties including document management, reviewing RFIs and change orders, managing billing milestones, and conducting project closeouts.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline is preferred; however, equivalent professional experience is acceptable.
- Minimum of five years’ work experience in construction, modular construction, manufacturing, project management, or operational roles.
- Proven skills in project delivery including scheduling, budgeting, procurement coordination, client relationship management, and risk/change mitigation.
- Experience working in the field is necessary; knowledge of design processes is advantageous.
- Possession of OSHA 30 certification is preferred; additional construction or safety certifications like CMIT are a plus.
Work Environment
This role is office-based in Louisville, Kentucky, with occasional travel to client and supplier sites across North America.
Team & Growth
The Project Manager will direct the work of others throughout project execution. New hires typically achieve full independence within 4–6 months, gaining complete confidence across all duties within the first year.
