Job Overview
We are seeking a proficient Production Engineer to oversee the daily functions of our machine shop. This role involves planning production schedules, managing process execution, ensuring quality control, and guaranteeing that components are delivered on time according to precise specifications.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise daily production tasks within the machine shop.
- Ensure effective use of machines, workforce, and other resources.
- Interpret engineering schematics to facilitate accurate fabrication.
- Manage component measurement and inspection using standard instruments.
- Maintain product quality in alignment with set standards and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with design, quality control, and maintenance departments.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements to boost efficiency and minimize defects.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- Hands-on experience in machine shop operations including CNC, VMC, Turning, and Milling.
- Strong expertise in production planning and process oversight.
- Proficient use of measurement tools like Vernier calipers and micrometers.
- Capability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
