The company is experiencing rapid growth, expanding into new international sourcing areas, attracting new customers, and entering fresh markets. Role Overview
This position offers a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in strategic sourcing by working directly with the Founder & CEO. Responsibilities include participating in live international supplier negotiations, managing sourcing programs, and developing cost strategies. From day one, you will observe supplier decision-making processes and learn effective negotiation techniques, while taking charge of analysis, planning, and logistical coordination necessary for these decisions. As you develop skills, you will gradually assume more direct supplier-facing responsibilities. This role presents a genuine opportunity for career advancement beyond routine administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain forecasts for usage, track stock levels, and develop ordering plans across primary input categories
- Prepare requests for quotations (RFQs) and tender documents; oversee the process of receiving and evaluating supplier quotes
- Assist and learn from the CEO during supplier negotiations and decision-making
- Handle daily communications with suppliers, including follow-up on documentation, sample requests, technical specifications, and price updates
- Draft, review, and manage supply agreements, purchase contracts, and proforma invoices, monitoring critical contract terms, price validity, and renewal timelines
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers for shipment documentation and customs clearance
- Maintain landed cost models and promptly highlight any risks related to costs or delivery schedules
- Manage coordination of sample submissions, new product development and quality assurance review cycles, plus supplier compliance documentation
- Participate in international market visits and factory audits alongside the CEO
- Gradually assume increased responsibility for managing supplier relationships and negotiations as expertise grows
Qualifications and Attributes
- Some prior experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management; ideal for early-career professionals aiming to build foundational skills
- Strong numerical aptitude with proficiency in Excel for constructing and maintaining cost and planning models
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple active sourcing projects simultaneously
- Attentive to commercial contract details such as pricing structures, payment terms, minimum order quantities (MOQs), and contract renewal schedules
- Proactive and curious mindset, motivated to follow up with suppliers, analyze figures critically, and identify issues promptly without waiting for direction
- Availability and willingness to travel internationally for supplier site visits and factory audits
- Effective and clear communication skills; comfortable working closely with executive leadership in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in the food manufacturing, FMCG, or import/export sectors is advantageous but not mandatory
