About the Role
Join a leading Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) laboratory to drive improvements in vaccine manufacturing processes. As a Process Scientist, you will tackle complex biological process challenges, design experiments, and optimize both upstream and downstream processes to enhance efficiency and reliability in vaccine production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and assist small-scale upstream and downstream bioprocess experiments within MSAT.
- Conduct cell culture, seed train, and bioreactor operations, along with downstream activities like TFF, clarification, and filtration.
- Support process development, scale-down modeling, manufacturing support, validation, and technical transfer tasks.
- Identify and resolve process issues, participate in deviation analysis, risk assessments, and drive continuous improvements.
- Generate technical documentation, analyze and present experimental data, and ensure compliance with GMP standards.
- Collaborate closely with MSAT and manufacturing teams to enhance vaccine drug substance production processes.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant scientific or engineering fields.
- 2 to 3+ years of industry experience in biological, biopharmaceutical, vaccine, clinical, or commercial manufacturing environments.
- Practical experience handling cell culture, bioreactors, and either upstream or downstream bioprocess development.
- Understanding of bioprocess development, biological manufacturing, and process validation principles.
- Familiarity with TFF, clarification, filtration methods, scale-down models, and working within GMP/cGMP standards is advantageous.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting, data analysis, problem-solving, documentation, and effective communication.
- Experience with technical transfer, deviation investigations, risk assessment, SOPs, protocols, and technical reporting is preferred.
- Ability to work productively in multidisciplinary teams and provide support during occasional weekend shifts.
Significance of This Role
This position plays a critical role at the crossroads of scientific research, process development, and manufacturing, directly impacting the production of vital vaccines. It is a compelling opportunity for professionals aiming to contribute significantly within a technical manufacturing setting.
