Role Overview

This role entails serving as the foremost technical expert and influencer, collaborating across engineering, architecture, product, and business teams to direct platform strategy and technical excellence. It combines hands-on problem solving with strategic leadership to improve platform performance, scalability, and sustainability without direct people management responsibilities.

Team Context

The team operates on evolving and optimizing the nCino platform and its ecosystem, supporting loan origination and customer onboarding capabilities while focusing on automation, integration, and platform maturity to facilitate future growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction and strategy across the nCino platform ecosystem.
• Drive improvements in platform performance, scalability, and long-term health.
• Develop and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and governance.
• Provide technical leadership in architecture, integration, and data design discussions.
• Detect and mitigate technical debt, platform risks, and recurring operational issues.
• Support delivery of strategic business and technology projects.
• Mentor engineering staff through code and design reviews and leadership.
• Enhance platform observability, resilience, and operational effectiveness.
• Champion automation, continuous integration/delivery, and DevSecOps standards.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders clearly.
• Maintain hands-on engagement with technical contributions as needed.

Candidate Profile

We seek a seasoned technical leader passionate about tackling intricate engineering challenges and guiding technology direction in regulated industries, ideally with a strong background in Salesforce development and enterprise platform architecture.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Extensive experience in software or platform engineering and solution architecture.
• Proficient in Salesforce engineering and in-depth platform knowledge.
• Background in financial services, banking, or similarly regulated sectors.
• Proven leadership in shaping technical strategy and architectural decisions.
• Solid understanding of enterprise integration patterns, APIs, event-driven architectures, and data workflows.
• Experience driving improvements in platform scalability, performance, and operational excellence.
• Familiarity with modern engineering practices including CI/CD and DevSecOps.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and elevate technical skills across teams.
• Strong communicator able to translate complex technology for diverse audiences.
• Experience with nCino platform is highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of lending, loan origination, CRM, or core banking platforms is preferred.
• Experience in large-scale transformation, platform modernization, or migration projects is a plus.
