About the Role
Join Wellstar Health System as a Porter in LaGrange, GA, where your efforts and input will be truly appreciated. Work Shift
Evening shift (United States time zone)
Responsibilities
- Transport food carts and related supplies to and from various departments efficiently and on schedule.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by cleaning and sanitizing meal carts, sweeping and mopping floors, washing walls, and cleaning tray return areas within the cafeteria.
- Hose down the dish machine after use and handle disposal of waste by emptying trash, cleaning trash cans, and ensuring loading dock and dumpster areas remain tidy.
- Assist with patient meal service by assembling trays, serving hot food, acting as a runner, and delivering meal carts promptly to patients, ensuring timely return of carts.
- Verify patient satisfaction with meals and identify areas where service improvements can be made.
- Continuously cooperate with team members and leadership to achieve departmental goals, share knowledge gained, and uphold a positive image through dress code compliance.
- Communicate respectfully and clearly with customers and coworkers at all times.
- Perform any additional duties assigned, adhering to all Wellstar Health System policies, standards, and code of conduct.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- All necessary certifications must be obtained upon hiring unless noted otherwise.
- Willingness to learn and be trained in role-specific tasks.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively work alongside others.
- Ability to understand and communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Possess a positive, cooperative attitude toward work and teamwork.
