Overview
We are looking to hire a mid-level Policy Analyst to assist a team of lobbyists and government affairs specialists. This role involves conducting extensive policy research, monitoring legislative developments, performing issue analysis, and supporting client needs. Candidates should ideally have prior experience in state government or public policy environments, such as serving in a Governor's office, a state office in Washington, DC, or as a legislative assistant in a state legislature or house. Special consideration will be given to those with expertise in energy policy or K-12 education.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and evaluate state and federal legislative, regulatory, and political developments important to client interests.
- Create polished and client-ready documents including policy memos, briefs, legislative overviews, and talking points.
- Conduct detailed research to support lobbying strategies, client engagements, and advocacy initiatives.
- Assist lobbyists by preparing for meetings, compiling background information, and providing strategic insights.
- Spot policy-related risks, opportunities, and emerging trends that may impact clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, government, or a closely related discipline.
- Between 2 to 4 years of pertinent experience in state government, legislative affairs, public policy, or government relations.
- Excellent skills in research, writing, and analysis.
- Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities efficiently in a dynamic, client-focused setting.
- Solid understanding of state policymaking and legislative processes is essential.
- Experience in energy policy is advantageous.

Compensation
