Role Overview

The Planning Engineer/Estimator position is a full-time role based on-site in Doha, Qatar. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining project schedules, preparing resource plans, and producing cost estimates for geotechnical and marine construction projects. The role entails monitoring project progress, updating planning documents, and supporting project control functions such as tracking timelines, budgets, and productivity metrics.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and update realistic project schedules and resource allocation plans.
• Analyze project performance data and support progress measurement and variance reporting.
• Collaborate with engineering, site, and commercial teams to ensure accurate cost estimates and timely project deliveries.
• Maintain and update planning and reporting tools daily.
• Assist in tender preparation and participate in bid evaluations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; experience in geotechnical or marine projects is preferable.
• Proficient in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project, along with MS Office applications.
• Strong planning and production planning capabilities.
• Experience in project control, including progress tracking, variance analysis, and reporting mechanisms.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams and present planning/cost data effectively.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills capable of meeting deadlines in a site-focused setting.
• Knowledge of applicable construction standards, safety regulations, and quality control procedures.
