Role Overview
North Bay Regional Health Centre’s Allied Rehab Services department is hiring a Physiotherapist for an on-site contract role in North Bay, Ontario. The selected person will be placed in one main clinical area, while also being expected to support other areas when needed. Regular rotations are part of the position so clinical skills stay current across services.
The core purpose of the role is to assess patients, deliver treatment, provide education, and coordinate appropriate referrals for patients and their caregivers, all with a focus on achieving patient-centred goals.
Qualifications
Applicants must be registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and hold a Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy or an equivalent qualification. A current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate for Health Care Providers, issued within the last 12 months, is required. The role also calls for at least two years of experience in an acute care environment.
Role Expectations
- Take part in inter-professional rounds, team meetings, family conferences, and discharge planning.
- Supervise therapy assistants as needed.
- Work with outside professionals and provide mentorship or supervision to colleagues and students when appropriate.
- Bring strong interpersonal and communication abilities to daily work.
- Hold current basic CPR capability.
- Maintain a solid attendance and work record.
- Having Assistive Device Program (ADP) authorization is considered an advantage.
- Show a clear commitment to personal safety as well as the safety of coworkers, patients, volunteers, and visitors.
- Contribute to a workplace culture that prioritizes safety and helps prevent adverse health events.
