Performance Expert

Overview

The Performance Expert will oversee and analyze operational performance within transportation services, ensuring alignment with Employer standards and contractual commitments. This role collaborates closely with the Performance Manager to create performance frameworks, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify trends, and drive continuous improvements.

The expert partners with operators, contractors, and other stakeholders to assess service quality, verify data integrity, and deliver actionable insights aimed at improving operational efficiency, reliability, customer satisfaction, and service excellence. A strong analytical mindset and experience in transportation performance management are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Track operational metrics against KPIs, service levels, and contract terms.
• Gather, validate, and analyze performance data from service providers.
• Identify trends and discrepancies in operational performance.
• Assist in crafting and applying performance measurement methodologies.
• Conduct audits to confirm contractual compliance.
• Compile performance scorecards and compare benchmarks to industry standards.
• Support periodic performance evaluation meetings and reporting.
• Detect operational inefficiencies and propose solutions.
• Perform root cause analysis on recurring issues and disruptions.
• Help develop corrective and preventive action plans.
• Evaluate the success of improvement efforts and recommend enhancements.
• Analyze reliability, availability, maintainability data, and performance indicators.
• Contribute to continuous service improvement programs.
• Ensure data quality through review of operational datasets.
• Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytical tools.
• Generate regular reports for management and stakeholders.
• Facilitate automation and digital transformation of performance tracking.
• Integrate data from multiple sources to provide insightful analysis.
• Employ business intelligence tools for performance evaluation and decisions.
• Monitor contractor compliance with contractual KPIs.
• Review contractor documentation and performance evidence.
• Identify and escalate contractual risks related to performance.
• Assist in performance assessments for contract oversight.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety performance standards.
• Coordinate with operators, contractors, and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Participate in performance-related meetings and governance forums.
• Support Employer assessments of contractor and service quality.
• Deliver presentations of analytical findings and suggestions to management.
• Encourage cross-team collaboration to meet performance targets.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Transportation, Operations Management, Business Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related area.
• Certifications in Performance Management, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Project Management are beneficial.
• 7 to 10 years of experience in performance management, operational analysis, or service monitoring.
• Preferred experience in transportation sectors such as public transport, rail, metro, bus, aviation, or infrastructure projects.
• Proven expertise in KPI management, performance reporting, and operational analytics.
• Experience in client-side, consultancy, operator, or transport authority roles is an advantage.
• Strong familiarity with performance-based contracts and service-level agreements (SLAs).
• Deep understanding of KPI frameworks and performance management methodologies.
• Knowledge of transport operations and service delivery practices.
• Proficient in Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or comparable visualization and reporting platforms.
• Excellent analytical skills and quantitative problem-solving ability.
• Insight into reliability and operational performance principles.
• Experience handling large datasets and producing executive summaries.
