Role Overview

The People Partner role supports executive leaders in the Data Cloud Storage team, which provides cutting-edge storage infrastructure and trusted solutions for data management in the AI era. As a trusted advisor and leadership team member, you will devise data-driven people strategies aligned with business objectives to empower employees, innovate work processes, and collaborate cross-functionally on talent acquisition, development, and retention. You will also participate directly in executing programs related to compensation, performance management, and talent development, serving as a culture ambassador and supporting Googlers' growth and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Google leaders to develop comprehensive people strategies that influence sustained change across large organizational functions.
• Diagnose complex organizational challenges and design swift, multidisciplinary solutions beyond traditional people practices.
• Provide expert guidance in talent and performance management, change management, leadership coaching, data analysis, employee relations, and strategic planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or relevant practical experience is required.
• Minimum nine years’ experience in an HR business partner or generalist role supporting leadership in global organizations.
• Proven expertise in organizational effectiveness, including workforce planning and organizational design.
• Experience driving organizational transformations across multiple regions and integrating experienced teams with new capabilities and talent.
• Strong background in organizational design, succession planning, employee performance management, compensation and rewards, recognition programs, culture preservation, employee engagement, coaching, talent management, conflict resolution, talent acquisition, data analysis, and employee relations.

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience as a management consultant working with external clients.
• Comfort operating within constraints while challenging existing practices.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and engage in complex strategic discussions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with capacity to interpret data trends and generate actionable recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with executive leadership and diverse stakeholders to drive organizational change.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range in the US: $171,000 to $248,000 annually, plus a 20% performance bonus target and equity awards.
• Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
• Retirement benefits with a 401(k) plan including company matching.
• Paid time off totaling 20 vacation days annually, accruing at 6.15 hours each pay period over the first five years.
• 40 hours of sick leave annually (increased to 69 hours for Seattle location), including five discretionary sick days per occurrence.
• Maternity leave benefits totaling 28 to 30 weeks combining short-term disability and baby bonding leave.
• Baby bonding leave of 18 weeks.
• 13 paid holidays per year.
