Role Overview

As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for delivering precise, timely, and customer-oriented payroll services that adhere to legal requirements and university policies. You will work closely within a supportive payroll team to execute payroll functions, uphold data accuracy, and offer exceptional service to university employees. Maintaining confidentiality, accuracy, and a continuous improvement approach are vital for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in accurately processing payroll tasks and updating changes including allowances, deductions, leave, and pay adjustments in compliance with applicable policies and legislation.
  • Ensure high data quality standards and promptly address payroll inquiries with a focus on customer service.
  • Support statutory requirements such as taxation and superannuation contributions, and aid in reconciliations, reporting, and preparing for audits.
  • Collaborate with People & Culture, Finance teams, and other partners to facilitate smooth and reliable payroll cycles.

Candidate Profile

  • Relevant experience in payroll administration or related finance/HR operational roles demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and respect for confidentiality.
  • Working knowledge of New Zealand payroll legislation and practices, alongside proficiency in using enterprise HRIS/payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong customer service aptitude, problem-solving capabilities, and teamwork skills, with the ability to handle deadlines effectively in high-volume settings.

Additional Information

This is a full-time position requiring 37.5 hours per week. Compensation will be commensurate with skills and experience within Grade 4, ranging from NZD 51,554 to NZD 75,351 annually. If you meet these criteria and seek to contribute meaningfully, consider applying.
