Job Responsibilities
- Manage patient meal service on designated hospital units, including selecting menus, assembling trays, delivering and collecting meals, and handling special dietary requests.
- Deliver food between meals as required to meet patient nutrition needs.
- Communicate any patient food-related issues or special requirements to department colleagues and collaborate with nursing staff to ensure nutritional needs are met.
- Respond promptly and correctly to changes in diet orders to guarantee timely and accurate meal service based on physician instructions.
Qualifications
- Preferred educational background is a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- No prior work experience is necessary; however, six months of experience in hospital food service is preferred.
- No licenses or certifications are required.
