Network Security Engineer

About the Role

This role seeks an experienced Network Security Engineer with a solid background in data networking, routing, switching, and network security. The candidate will focus on managing and supporting network security solutions including VPN, firewalls, and routing protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Palo Alto Networks customers, including case ownership, documentation, and case management.
• Manage customer relationships by setting accurate expectations and handling various situations to ensure positive outcomes.
• Ensure case progress aligns with SLA requirements, utilizing appropriate tools and collaborating with client teams such as SE, Support Manager, and L3 engineers.
• Address backlog cases promptly and work towards resolution with periodic follow-ups according to defined SLAs.
• Adhere strictly to process guidelines including SIP, ISO standards, and maintain queue and process discipline.
• Create knowledge base articles when opportunities arise and contribute actively to knowledge sharing platforms.
• Work on continuous improvement of customer experience and develop strong professional relationships.
• Complete Palo Alto Networks certification within 120 days following project initiation.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in data networking, routing, switching, and network security.
• Strong understanding of the OSI model and the TCP/IP protocol suite including IP, ARP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, SNMP, FTP, and TFTP.
• Hands-on experience with VLANs, tagging (IEEE 802.1q, 802.3ad, 802.1d, 802.1w).
• Proficiency in IPSEC VPN, SSL-VPN, NAT, GRE technologies.
• Experience with routing protocols such as RIP v1/v2, OSPF, and BGP.
• Knowledge of authentication protocols including TACACS, RADIUS, and 802.1x.
• Working knowledge of major networking security products like Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Check Point, Juniper, Fortinet, SonicWALL, NetScreen, and Juniper SRX is advantageous.
• Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools such as Sniffer, Ethereal, and Wireshark.
• Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, Palo Alto Security Certification, or CCSP are beneficial.
• Understanding of Server Load Balancing (SLB), DHCP, VRRP, and IGMP protocols.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in any specialization.

Compensation

Offered salary ranges between INR 300,000 and INR 800,000 annually.
