Role Overview

The Mechanical Piping Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing mechanical piping activities on-site in Mainland Europe. This position reports directly to the Construction Manager or Lead Engineer. We are open to hiring for both full-time permanent and contract roles, with salary negotiable based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate directly with the Construction Manager/Lead Engineer regarding project requirements.
• Manage aspects of mechanical contracting including safety, construction, quality control, and commercial matters.
• Develop construction work packages for piping and equipment installations.
• Authorize and sign off on piping test packs covering pre-test, pressure test, and post-test activities.
• Record and document field welds for weld history inclusion within piping test documentation.
• Facilitate on-site coordination between mechanical and other discipline teams.
• Take ownership of all engineering matters within a designated construction section.
• Resolve engineering queries encountered in the field during construction.
• Collaborate with the MSL piping supervisor to advance construction progress in their designated area.
• Provide weekly progress updates focused on the assigned construction area.
• Gather and report weekly variations from area supervisors to support cost engineering management.
• Maintain understanding of the MSL contract scope to identify potential variation works on site.
• Ensure correct installation of equipment within the responsible area.
• Use Navisworks 3D models to provide technical support to the piping supervisor.
• Ensure all materials, including fabricated pipe spools and supports, are present on site as scheduled.
• Work closely with the MSL QA lead to ensure timely handover of piping systems to the client.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience as a construction engineer or trade supervisor in piping-related projects.
• Strong knowledge and proficiency in reading and interpreting piping isometrics and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
