Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

Jal Automation & Systems is recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer tasked with creating and enhancing Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), industrial automation setups, assembly lines, material handling systems, and customized engineering projects. This role demands expertise in SolidWorks and AutoCAD to translate client needs into feasible machine designs while collaborating across production, procurement, and project teams.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for SPMs and automation projects.
• Generate comprehensive 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks software.
• Produce General Arrangement drawings, assembly blueprints, part and fabrication plans.
• Develop manufacturing files including Bills of Materials and component specifications.
• Execute machine layout design and review stages.
• Design sheet metal, fabricated structures, machined parts, and welded assemblies.
• Ensure designs prioritize manufacturability, cost efficiency, and ease of assembly.
• Collaborate with Production, Assembly, Procurement, Quality Assurance, and Electrical Design teams during project phases.
• Offer technical assistance during assembly, commissioning, and customer trials of machines.
• Manage engineering modifications and maintain controlled drawing revisions.
• Engage in initiatives for design improvements, standardization, and value engineering.
• Uphold proper design documentation aligned with company policies.
