Meat Associate

Position Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Meat Associate offers a valuable opportunity to enhance your expertise in the retail sector. This role emphasizes delivering outstanding customer service in line with Walmart's core principles and maintaining the meat department's quality and organization.

Key Duties

• Maintain and organize the meat department for optimal presentation.
• Rotate stock regularly while monitoring expiration dates to ensure product freshness.
• Ensure all products are accurately labeled with prices and signage.
• Comply with cold chain management standards including thermometer calibration, temperature tracking, food handling practices, and adherence to sell-by and expiration dates.
• Process Deli Department orders, skillfully slice and prepare items such as meats, cheeses, and fried chicken, and provide assistance to customers as needed.
• Follow established procedures for ordering inventory, managing clearances, marking up or down products, and labeling appropriately.
• Prepare deli food items, utilizing equipment like slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers; assemble prepared salads and sides for displays and fulfill special customer orders.
• Adhere strictly to Health and Safety regulations applicable to the department.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $18.70 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum age requirement is 16 years or older.
