About the Role
Join Edwards Lifesciences in Limerick as a Manufacturing Supervisor II on the evening shift, where you will contribute significantly to producing life-changing medical devices. You will oversee teams involved in sewing, assembly, delivery, and distribution, ensuring smooth and continuous manufacturing operations that positively impact patient lives worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise personnel and production activities within two or more manufacturing areas, using your technical expertise to maintain operational efficiency and conducting performance evaluations including addressing any issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by collaborating with engineering teams on investigations, corrective actions, and non-conformance assessments while ensuring documentation accuracy.
- Take ownership of staff productivity and quality metrics, regularly updating management and stakeholders on manufacturing performance.
- Coordinate and schedule work orders, monitoring team outputs and ensuring appropriate staffing levels for all roles.
- Ensure employees receive necessary training to carry out assigned tasks effectively.
- Maintain and update assembly procedures for assigned product lines as the designated documentation owner.
- Oversee management of raw materials to assure availability and monitor usage against established standards, including material and labor variance control.
- Promote punctual attendance, full shift completion, and minimal absenteeism among team members.
- Perform additional duties as required, such as occasional clerical tasks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a minimum Bachelor's Degree (level 7) along with 3-4 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, quality assurance, or product development engineering, with full responsibility over personnel management including hiring and termination.
- Experience in the medical device industry is preferred.
Preferred Skills and Attributes
- Project management expertise to lead initiatives effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using Enterprise Resource Planning systems, preferably JDE.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills fostering collaboration with cross-functional teams and resolving conflicts to achieve consensus.
- Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing procedures relevant to supervised areas.
- Proven ability to coach, provide feedback, and manage employee relations including coordination with HR.
- Analytical skills to optimize production line layout and efficiency.
- Knowledge of processes and equipment specific to assigned work areas.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that frequently changes.
- Adherence to company Environmental Health and Safety and Quality policies, particularly in clean room medical device manufacturing.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Commitment to uphold all company protocols and maintain a safe workplace environment.
Working Hours
The position operates Monday through Thursday from 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM, finishing earlier at 2:00 AM on Thursdays.
