Manager, Education Programs (Baseball Operations)

Overview

The Chicago Cubs are seeking a dedicated Manager for Education Programs within Baseball Operations. This role is essential to crafting a consistent and impactful educational experience that supports minor league players' growth both on the field and in their personal development. The position operates out of either the Dominican Republic or Mesa, Arizona, requiring regular travel between locations to maintain program alignment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a unified education program across multiple facilities, ensuring consistent curricula and educational standards aligned with the Cubs' player development philosophy.
• Maintain cross-location leadership by collaborating regularly between the Dominican Republic and Arizona complexes to ensure continuity.
• Design and continually update the education curriculum including English language development, baseball-specific English, and formal education support.
• Uphold operational standards for classroom management, instructional quality, scheduling, resources, assessments, and logistics.
• Manage and coach the education staff and external partners to align programming with organizational standards.
• Implement systems to assess player progress in English proficiency and provide data-driven insights for leadership.
• Oversee administrative tasks including record keeping, attendance reporting, and vendor documentation to guarantee smooth program operations.
• Collaborate with various internal departments to integrate education into player development for a holistic experience.
• Manage the education program budget and resource allocation efficiently in partnership with senior leadership.
• Travel frequently between Cubs facilities and for professional development or league meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related fields such as TESOL, Educational Leadership, Psychology, or Organizational Development.
• Fluent in English and Spanish with the ability to work effectively in diverse cultural environments.
• At least five years of experience in educational program management, curriculum design, instructional leadership, or student development.
• Proven ability to develop curriculum, set instructional standards, and evaluate educational programs.
• Experience managing education teams, coaching staff, and coordinating with vendors.
• Background in supporting multilingual learners or diverse cultural populations preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence for relationship building and trust creation.
• Self-driven with excellent organizational and analytical capabilities for handling multiple priorities.
• Effective communicator capable of presenting information clearly to varied audiences.
• Willingness to base full-time in either the Dominican Republic or Mesa, AZ, and undertake frequent domestic and international travel.
• Comfort working in dynamic, fast-paced environments focused on athlete development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education, TESOL, Curriculum and Instruction, or related fields.
• Experience within professional sports, player development, or other high-performance settings involving international or multilingual populations.
• Knowledge of language acquisition frameworks and related assessment tools.
• Familiarity with educational technology platforms and learning management software.
• Understanding of elite athlete development and baseball culture.

Compensation and Culture

The salary range for this exempt position is $60,000 to $115,000 annually, dependent on skills and experience.
