Job description
Overview
Based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, this role involves overseeing construction and fit-out contract management for renovation and new build projects involving airport lounges, hotels, F&B outlets, and related services within Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East region.
Responsibilities
- Manage quantity surveying tasks both before and after contract signing including cost estimation, procurement, tendering evaluation, cash flow forecasting, contract oversight, handling variations, and final account settlements.
- Engage in cost reviews throughout the initiation, planning, and execution phases of construction and renovation projects for airport hospitality locations.
- Collaborate closely with the Projects Team to execute quantity surveying duties; liaise and coordinate with consultants and contractors.
- Ensure project delivery adheres to timelines and budgets.
- Conduct take-offs from drawings and accurate pricing for cost estimations and tender documentation.
- Attend relevant meetings and site inspections as required.
- Report directly to the Global Project Director and/or Vice President for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Degree or Higher Diploma in Engineering, Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 2 years of post-graduate experience in quantity surveying with emphasis on tender documentation, contract management, cost estimation, interim payment processing, and cost planning/control, preferably with fit-out experience in renovation or new build projects.
- Strong knowledge of pre- and post-contract quantity surveying procedures.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Competent with general computer applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Good awareness of the current construction industry and market dynamics.
- Strong team player exhibiting maturity and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work overtime when necessary.
