Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate the maintenance team by assigning and tracking tasks for mechanics and maintenance personnel.
• Lead daily briefings to discuss priorities, challenges, and plans.
• Remain accessible via radio to support ongoing maintenance activities.
• Conduct thorough inspections of lodge facilities to identify maintenance requirements, including evaluating critical systems like water treatment, generators, solar, HVAC, and electrical panels.
• Provide assistance and supervision for urgent repairs such as plumbing leaks and electrical faults.
• Ensure all equipment and vehicles remain functional and serviceable.
• Manage subcontractors ensuring timely, high-quality service that aligns with lodge standards by scheduling, facilitating access, verifying completion, and maintaining effective communication.
• Oversee logistics by monitoring fuel and gas levels for generators, vehicles, bulk tanks, and portable cylinders.
• Maintain adequate stock of tools and consumables like light bulbs and plumbing components.
• Keep accurate records of completed work, equipment use, and resolved issues, including completing all daily dip readings and required recordings.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• In-depth technical expertise in maintenance systems including electrical, plumbing, solar energy, and HVAC.
• Proven leadership capabilities to effectively manage and guide a team.
• Strong organizational skills coupled with adept problem-solving ability.
• Understanding and application of sustainable maintenance practices.
• Competency in maintaining detailed records and reporting.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license is mandatory.

Additional Information

This role is permanent and requires living on-site at andBeyond Suyian Lodge in Kenya.
