Overview
Join our technology and data science team as a Machine Learning Scientist focused on developing sophisticated machine learning models to address complex business challenges and real-world scenarios. This mid-level role involves pioneering research, experimental design, predictive model development, and practical application of advanced machine learning methods. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to transform data-driven insights into scalable AI-powered solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, design, and develop cutting-edge machine learning algorithms and models.
- Perform experiments to explore novel machine learning approaches, techniques, and applications.
- Analyze large, complex datasets for patterns, relationships, and predictive opportunities.
- Create predictive, classification, recommendation, optimization, and anomaly detection models to support business and customer needs.
- Conduct data preparation, feature engineering, model selection, hyperparameter tuning, and statistical analyses.
- Assess model performance using appropriate machine learning and statistical metrics and experimental methods.
- Implement machine learning models using Python and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, and XGBoost.
- Work alongside machine learning engineers and software developers to deploy research models into reliable production environments.
- Design and conduct controlled experiments including A/B testing and statistical analysis to validate model efficacy and business impact.
- Investigate advanced domains like deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, generative AI, foundation models, and reinforcement learning where applicable.
- Present research results, technical findings, and model insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Prepare technical documentation, experiment reports, and presentations to support research and development efforts.
- Continuously monitor model quality, data integrity, and outcomes, identifying opportunities for improvements.
- Champion ethical AI practices addressing model explainability, fairness, privacy, security, and responsibility.
- Keep abreast of scientific publications, emerging technologies, and industry trends to foster innovation.
- Contribute to ongoing enhancements in machine learning research, model optimization, and business success.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in machine learning, AI, data science, statistics, computational science, or related disciplines.
- Proficiency in Python programming and usage of machine learning and scientific computing libraries.
- Comprehensive understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, probability theory, optimization, and experimental design.
- Hands-on experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, and XGBoost.
- Strong skills in data preprocessing, feature engineering, model evaluation, validation, and performance tuning.
- Experience managing and analyzing large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.
- Knowledge of deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, generative AI, or other advanced AI fields is a plus.
- Familiarity with statistical testing, A/B testing, causal inference, or experimental methodologies is advantageous.
- Experience working with SQL, databases, data pipelines, and cloud platforms for data and machine learning workflows.
- Awareness of MLOps practices, model deployment, monitoring, and production machine learning systems is beneficial.
- Strong analytical thinking, research capability, critical reasoning, and problem-solving aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and translate research into actionable solutions.
- High intellectual curiosity, professionalism, accountability, adaptability, and dedication to continuous learning.
- Preferred educational qualifications include Bachelor's or Master's degree in Machine Learning, AI, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related fields; PhD or substantial research experience is a plus.
