About the Team and Role Overview

As a Logistics Specialist, you will take charge of managing and optimizing the North American logistics network, focusing on inbound logistics key performance indicators (KPIs). Collaboration with internal teams such as procurement, as well as external partners including carriers and third-party warehouses, will be critical to streamline and enhance the supply chain process.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with inbound Logistics Coordinators to execute inbound strategies involving procurement, distribution centers, third-party storage facilities, cross-docking, and vendor coordination.
• Provide guidance and training to inbound logistics coordinators, serving as the main escalation point and proactively resolving potential bottlenecks by developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Partner with purchasing, category management teams, and distribution centers to oversee daily delivery and shipping schedules, ensuring consistent adherence to company KPIs and standards.
• Regularly manage data reporting for inbound loads, including month-end financial analysis, implementing measures to improve reporting accuracy and operational standards.
• Monitor vendor performance, including brokers and carriers, and conduct monthly reviews to promote collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Perform shipping process audits, recommend improvements aligned with SOPs, and track departmental KPIs.
• Audit freight, carrier, and vendor invoices against contracts to detect discrepancies, handle billing disputes, and avoid overpayments.
• Maintain ongoing records of shipping lane costs for budgeting purposes.
• Identify and implement opportunities to reduce costs through improved load planning, carrier selection, backhaul optimization, and trailer usage enhancement. Share effective practices across shifts and the logistics network.
• Engage in special projects aimed at process optimization and cost-saving, working closely with distribution center and procurement leadership teams for strategic transportation planning.
• Act as a super-user of logistics software tools, improving and troubleshooting their functionalities, including leveraging AI technology to detect workflow inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with North American logistics teams to standardize processes and guide peer groups to enhance workflows consistently across regions.
• Be adaptable to support operational needs outside regular hours, including weekends and emergencies.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of demonstrated experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain roles, with solid knowledge of manufacturing or distribution center operations.
• Strong analytical capabilities to identify issues, investigate discrepancies, and recommend financially sound solutions; proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to accurately interpret, convey, and document information.
• Proven interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders, maintaining positive relationships and resolving logistics challenges diplomatically under pressure.
• Customer service excellence in responding promptly and effectively to inquiries or resolving conflicts.
• Superior organizational aptitude to manage detailed tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and multi-task independently, sometimes under tight deadlines.

Compensation
