Overview
Vertiv, a leading manufacturer of electrical distribution equipment in Europe, is expanding its LV Switchgear & Busbar divisions and seeks an experienced Logistics Manager to join the Burnfoot team. This role is integral to enhancing supply chain operations and ensuring efficient, cost-effective movement of goods from origin to destination.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe working environment for employees, contractors, and visitors involved in logistics activities.
- Enforce compliance with all safety and environmental rules for all personnel engaged in logistics tasks on site.
- Lead and coordinate logistics and shipping teams across Burnfoot, Campsie, and Letterkenny, assuring adequate resources for inbound and outbound logistics.
- Guarantee timely availability of packaging supplies such as pallets, foil bags, and stretch wrap.
- Secure and provide necessary lifting equipment, transportation, and manpower for safe product movement and loading.
- Manage international and national material transfers, ensuring regulatory compliance in trade and shipping documentation.
- Keep logistics updated on evolving transport legislation to maintain corporate governance and compliance.
- Oversee ethical and transparent management of contracts with transport and logistics service providers.
- Handle scrap materials transactions responsibly, respecting environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve logistics efficiency and reduce costs aligned with business goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of five years managing logistics operations, ideally with manufacturing sector experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of logistics principles, including transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and supply chain optimization.
- Proven leadership abilities and interpersonal skills to foster relationships and communication across organizational levels.
- Analytical competence to interpret data, discern patterns, and formulate strategic logistics solutions.
- Organizational proficiency with strong attention to detail and multitasking capabilities under pressure.
- Familiarity with relevant logistics regulatory standards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and applicable logistics software platforms.
Additional Information
- This position requires travel approximately 25% of the time.
