Logistics Director

Position Overview

The Logistics Director is responsible for managing end-to-end domestic and international shipping operations, warehouse management, and systems integration. This leadership role emphasizes cost reduction, operational enhancements, and effective collaboration among sales, production, and finance divisions. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong attention to detail, analytical capabilities, and extensive experience with third-party warehouse management and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop biweekly shipment split files for international cargo and monthly domestic cross-dock shipments.
• Coordinate cross-dock shipping processes and oversee invoice routing for over 30 client accounts spanning 10 countries.
• Manage overseas air and ocean freight operations, including customs documentation and ensuring timely delivery to the New Jersey warehouse.
• Monitor wire payments for prepaid accounts to authorize cargo release timely.
• Conduct weekly warehouse visits to supervise daily operations and lead initiatives focused on continual process improvements.
• Manage pick ticket assignments, shipping routes, and inventory allocations for wholesale orders.
• Reconcile the New Jersey warehouse inventory with e-commerce preorders and initiate stock transfers as needed.
• Address warehouse operational challenges in weekly meetings and ensure all key performance indicators (KPIs) are satisfied.
• Ensure order shipment windows align with production timelines and coordinate pre-routing for delayed items to prevent penalties for late shipments.
• Process drop shipments from China into virtual inventory systems, generate invoices, and manage shipments according to client specifications.
• Administer all EDI transmissions, maintain GS1 certificates, and oversee UPC item catalogs for InterTrade and GXS platforms.
• Lead onboarding and setup for new trading partners.
• Handle special logistics requests, such as customized hangtag placement for major retailers including Anthropologie and Nordstrom.
• Provide logistics support and training as a point of contact among sales, production, and finance teams.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in logistics, warehouse, or supply chain management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs processes, and EDI systems.
• Demonstrated success in lowering operational costs via streamlined processes.
• Strong organizational skills coupled with effective communication abilities.
• Experience using inventory management systems and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Compensation

This position offers a salary ranging between $150,000 and $180,000 annually.
