Seeking a seasoned Leader in Mechanical Maintenance to oversee plant equipment and machinery performance, ensuring high reliability, efficiency, and minimal downtime and cost in a manufacturing environment based in Gurugram, Haryana, India. This role reports directly to the Leader Maintenance & Projects, Stores and supports maintenance strategies across the IMEA region.

Key Duties and Accountabilities

  • Monitor and evaluate plant machinery to detect potential problems and assure optimal operational uptime.
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans, conduct root cause analyses, and drive continuous improvement to enhance equipment availability and energy efficiency.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, regulatory, and industry standards through audits, policy enforcement, and awareness programs.
  • Manage internal maintenance teams and coordinate with external vendors, including negotiating contracts and monitoring vendor performance.
  • Drive team objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost on daily, weekly, and monthly intervals, promoting accountability.
  • Lead the adoption of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), 5S, and Kaizen methodologies to maintain standards of excellence.
  • Maintain inventory control for critical spares and consumables to support maintenance activities effectively.
  • Oversee budgeting and cost management for routine maintenance, equipment upgrades, and automation projects.
  • Develop, revise, and standardize operating procedures and control plans in coordination with departmental leadership.
  • Support operational expenditure (Opex) and capital expenditure (Capex) projects ensuring high-quality supply levels.
  • Handle employee relations including shift planning and performance management to foster a productive work environment.
  • Record and investigate non-conformities within maintenance processes to ensure compliance and drive corrective/preventive actions.
  • Plan and conduct annual shutdown maintenance activities efficiently.
  • Review operator skill matrices, identify gaps, and implement relevant training programs.
  • Conduct asset audits to assess asset condition and determine disposition including write-offs.

Strategic Initiatives

  • Possess deep knowledge of mechanical maintenance principles, predictive techniques, and root cause assessment.
  • Plan and execute capital projects collaboratively with leadership and maintenance teams.
  • Support strategic execution aligned with company vision, contributing to process, people, and technology enhancements.
  • Create and utilize Value Stream Maps to identify process efficiencies and optimize information flow.
  • Drive cost-improvement initiatives related to automation, productivity, energy savings, and operating supplies with Operational Excellence partners.
  • Manage contracts related to plant maintenance and associated services.

Stakeholders

Interact closely with all production units, Environment Health & Safety (EHS), Operational Excellence (OE), Maintenance Operations (MO), Procurement, Human Resources, and Quality departments internally. Maintain relationships with standards auditors, equipment suppliers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and external third-party maintenance providers.

Required Expertise and Attributes

  • Strong leadership capabilities with emphasis on team development and coaching.
  • Proficient in budgeting, financial oversight, and strategic inventory management.
  • Skilled in project management and operational leadership.
  • Experienced with Value Stream Mapping and Total Productive Maintenance methodologies.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SAP, Google Sheets, Microsoft Office suite, and familiarity with ceramic manufacturing processes.

Academic Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
